This project evolved during the design phase from a simple secondary dwelling, to a unique opportunity to challenge ourselves around the possibilities that can be achieved with solar passive design principles, thermal performance and the use of only readily available materials.

We worked closely with the thermal assessor throughout the planning stage on both the design & material selection. Constantly making small tweaks to improve the star rating & performance. Through this process of trial, error & persistence, we were able to achieve a 10 Star NatHERS rating. The highest possible star rating & we believe the first of its kind in NSW.

From the use of recycled materials throughout to the top of the range windows & doors to the substantial Solar PV system installed consisting of 7.8k/w panels with a 5 k/w inverter and 4.8k/w hours of battery storage. This home is a real game changer for us in terms of Sustainability & Thermal Performance.
